Language Pcl LJ2050.ASC

USING  THE SELECT PRIMARY FONT ( FI ) COMMAND

     
     The Select Primary Font command ( FI ), allows any
     accessible font that has been assigned a font ID number
     to be selected as the primary (standard) font. For more
     information see the PCL 5 Printer Language Technical
     Reference Manual. The syntax for this command is as
     follows:
     
     FI font-ID;
     
     
     LEGEND: Ec = [Ctrl] [P] [Esc] in DOS EDIT.
     
     
     
     
     EcE                           Resets the printer.
     
     Ec*c15D                       Specifies a font ID
                                   number of 15.
     
     Ec(s1p18v0s3b4148T            Selects an 18-point
                                   Universe Bold font as the
                                   primary font.
     
     Ec*c6F                        Assigns the font just
                                   defined as the temporary
                                   font with ID number (15).
     
     Ec%0B                         Enters HP-GL/2 mode.
     
     IN;                           Initializes HP-GL/2 mode.
     
     SP1;                          Selects pen number 1,
                                   (black). Even though
                                   there is no physical pen,
                                   the SP command must be
                                   used to enable printing.
     
     PA1500,1500;                  Specifies absolute
                                   plotting and moves to
                                   (1500,1500).
     
     DT#;                          Defines "#" as a label
                                   terminator (non-
                                   printing).
     
     LBLaserJet Printers CR-LF#;   Prints "LaserJet
                                   Printers" in the
                                   currently selected font,
                                   which is the default
                                   Stick font. Then, a
                                   Carriage Return and Line
                                   Feed (CR-LF).
     
     SD4,18;FI15;SS;               Uses the SD command to
                                   designate an 18-point
                                   font from within HP-GL/2
                                   mode; selects the PCL
                                   font with font ID number
                                   15 as the primary font;
                                   selects the primary font
                                   for printing.
     
     LBLaserJet Printers#;         Prints "LaserJet
                                   Printers" in the newly
                                   selected font.
     
     Ec%0A                         Enters PCL mode.
     
     EcE                           Sends a reset to end the
                                   job and eject the page.
